Our 2020 Annual Report

The City Forward Collective team is excited to publish our 2020 Annual Report.

This document tells the story of how our team provided critical support to thousands of students, families, and educators at schools across the city throughout the most challenging period in our lifetimes.

It also lays out our updated five-year strategic plan for city-wide change, centered on three approaches already road-tested in other cities where students have made tremendous gains:

1. HIGH-QUALITY SCHOOLS: Fund the expansion of existing high-quality schools, the launch of several new schools, and improvements of promising schools so that at least 5,000 more students are attending high-quality schools by 2025.
2. EFFECTIVE AND REPRESENTATIVE TALENT: Provide programs and grants to increase the quantity, diversity, and effectiveness of teachers and school leaders, improving from 20% educators of color across Milwaukee today to at least 40% by 2025.
3. A HEALTHY AND IMPROVING EDUCATION ECOSYSTEM: Create change through policy work, direct advocacy, and parent and community organizing to foster conditions for a sustainable, high-performing three-sector education ecosystem that ensures continued investments in school improvement.
